In 2026, ten national standards including the Safety Requirements for Indoor Stationary Fitness Equipment were officially implemented. The standards strengthen structural stability, hazardous substance limits and electrical safety of fitness equipment, building a solid safety barrier for fitness activities. Meanwhile, the General Requirements for Elderly-Friendly Fitness Equipment came into force simultaneously, specifying elderly-friendly indicators such as treadmill speed limitation, one-click alarm and large-font operation to meet the needs of an aging society. The industry is accelerating upgrades toward safety and humanization, driving enterprises to pursue technological innovation and promoting high-quality development of the national fitness industry.
