Driven by the global low-carbon wave, the fitness equipment industry is accelerating its green transformation. In 2024, the shipment volume of products using recycled materials increased by 58% year-on-year, and sustainable attributes have become one of the core considerations for consumers in purchasing. European brands took the lead in laying out full-life cycle design. A German company launched a commercial treadmill with 85% of its components recyclable. Its metal frame uses 95% pure recycled aluminum instead of primary aluminum, which not only reduces production costs by 18% but also reduces carbon emissions by 62%. This series of products has entered more than 2,000 chain gyms in the European Union.

At the policy level, the North American market has recently introduced new regulations, requiring all imported fitness equipment to be marked with material recycling rates and carbon footprint data starting from 2025, forcing environmental upgrades at the supply chain end. Domestic enterprises are also accelerating their efforts. A leading manufacturer launched a yoga ball made of 100% recycled TPU material, which has passed the international OEKO-TEX eco-textile certification. Relying on the dual advantages of "degradable + high elasticity", it occupied 22% of the domestic high-end yoga equipment market within three months of its launch. The industry predicts that by 2027, the average application rate of recycled materials in the fitness equipment industry will rise to 55%, and the number of patent applications related to low-carbon production processes will increase by 3 times.
